Our Museum is housed in a restored 19th Century farm building, which was originally a wood-working shop. On display are all manner of items from the house, in an area protected by glass. Many old Account Books and Letters, from the previous two centuries, have been taken from 52 archive boxes dating from 1830 to the present day. They mostly relate to the Tyrrell family who lived in the house from 1895 and to the Bor family who built the house in 1822. Antique butter churners, an automatic knife sharpener from the Victorian era, a poacher trap, a glass water filter, antique kitchen paraphernalia and many other items can be seen, including a Victorian collection of bird's eggs, and even a huge fresh water pike on display in its original glass case. Around the walls the history of the house and gardens is depicted in words and pictures. |
